School Information
ABOUT MHS  Millennium High School was founded in 2002 with a $500,000 grant from New Visions for Public Schools with additional donations from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations, the Carnegie Corporation, and the Open Society Institute.  Community Board 1 raised $14 million to build the school, which is located on the 11th, 12th and 13th floors of 75 Broad Street.  MHS enrolls approximately 500 students.  Teachers are available every day after school for extra help.  An active Parents' Association offers families further resources, intiates programs and raises funds to support them.

ADMINISTRATION AND STAFF   Principal Robert Rhodes has been a public school teacher and administrator for 19 years.  He received Clark University's Secondary Educator of the Year Award in 2003 and a Cahn Fellowship in 2008.  The faculty members of MHS all have Master's degrees in their respective fields.  Many have been recipients of highly competitive grants and have studied around the world.

CHINATOWN YMCA COLLABORATION   Working side by side with the Department of Education, the Chinatown YMCA Teen Action model provides programs and services on an individual, group and school wide bases emphasizing academic/career success, leadership development, healthy life styles, creative expression, and civic engagement/social responsibility.  In addition, they provide and coordinate specialized programming and activities which are open to the entire school.
