Message from Principal Colin McEvoy

To the Millennium High School Community:

This week we collectively faced the loss of our loved and respected colleague Naire McCormick.

Her positive, affirming, and significant role at Millennium was celebrated Friday afternoon by hundreds of community members in an on-site tribute.  It was a moving opportunity for many to share their gratitude, and love, for Naire'.

Next week there will be two events for Ms. McCormick, a viewing from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday night and a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.  Both the viewing and the funeral will be held at Calvary Baptist Church of Red Hook, 773 Hicks Street, Brooklyn, 11231.

A GoFundMe page for her son, Scottie (currently a middle school student), can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/f/scottiem

We are also pursuing school-level discussions about how to best recognize, and remember, Ms. McCormick.

In closing, I gently remind parents that our guidance counselors remain ready to support students as they process their grief and reaction.

Sincerely,

Colin McEvoy
Principal
